Dr. Carl Meyers
A native of Wisconsin, Dr. Carl Meyers graduated from St. Mary’s Springs High School in Fond du Lac and is an Army Veteran who served in the first Gulf War with the 395th Ord. Co. out of Appleton in 1990-91. After leaving the Army in 1993, he married Amy and they moved to Louisville where he completed his Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Dr. Meyers then worked as a hospital floor nurse to put himself through dental school, graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2001.
After graduation, Dr. Meyers and Amy, along with their two children, (Kaitlyn, born in 1997 and Scott, born in 1998,) moved back to Wisconsin, where Dr. Meyers practiced with Dr. Pete Hehli of Northstar Dental Group in Appleton and Sheboygan. In 2002, he purchased his current practice in West Bend from Dr. Gary Berglin.
Dr. Meyers has completed extensive training in many aspects of general, cosmetic, implant, and family dentistry with additional training in Oral Conscious Sedation for use in adult patients. A member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) since 2002, he became a Fellow of DOCS in 2006. “I love being able to offer this option for both fearful and time restricted patients. With this proven technique, we can safely complete many visits worth of treatment in just one or two visits with no IV’s, just oral medications.”
Professionally, Dr. Meyers is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA), serving on several committees, and the Washington/Ozaukee County Dental Society (WOCDS), serving as President in 2007-2008. He has averaged over fifty hours of continuing education every year and has been an activist for dental causes by attending Legislative Day in Madison, assisting in the formation of a dental health coalition in Ozaukee County, and treating patients from the Albrecht Free Clinic.
When he’s not doing dentistry, Dr. Meyers enjoys spending time with his wife and children, doing home improvement projects and even tries to get in a little golf and fishing.
