Throughout the year we collect names of Pioneer Dental patients who refer us to their friends and family and we draw a yearly winner of Packer Tickets!

(Does anyone recognize this Packer quarterback?)
This year the winner receives two club indoor tickets for the Packer vs. Lions game on December 28th! The indoor club seats are full seats with cup holders (not bleacher seats), in a climate controlled environment. It has multiple seats and a wait staff, as well as exclusive restrooms and exclusive access to the north endzone patio!
Here are some winners from the last few years:

And THIS is the view from the seats! Who wouldn't want to win these tickets?

Do you want to win the tickets this year? Be sure to refer our practice to everyone that you know!

This October, Dr. Meyers and his family will be traveling to Guatemala with a non-profit from Cedarburg, Time & Talents for Children Inc. to provide much needed dental treatment for children in the Coban area of Guatemala. This will be the family's third trip to Guatemala with the organization!
The mission of the trip is best put, "Time and Talents for Children, Inc. is an organization formed in 2009 to provide dental care to children and to build and improve facilities that serve children. TNT4C grew from our collective experiences with other organizations giving our volunteers and members experience and foresight. It is a way that the volunteers that are devoted to this cause can participate in a program that will relieve pain and help children to become self reliant adults. We are an inter-denominational, non-ethnic organization working for children."

With the warmer and longer days here, we know many of our patients at Pioneer Dental will be much more active in the summer. Though most of our patients are probably already ready to hit the field for some summer fun, we thought we would discuss a few precautions to take when it comes to keeping your teeth safe as you enjoy playing your favorite sports.
Use a Mouthguard
Are your kids participating in contact sports this summer? If the answer is yes, we strongly encourage you to have them fitted for a mouthguard at Pioneer Dental before the season starts. Athletes can avoid serious mouth and jaw injuries by using a mouthguard.
Be Mindful of Sports Drinks
While sports drinks can be refreshing after a game, they unfortunately contain high levels of sugar and citric acid, which are known to erode the teeth and reduce the minerals in the outer tooth enamel. The simplest way to prevent sports drinks from damaging your teeth? Avoid them completely and drink water instead. Water is a great option to keep you hydrated before, during, or after a game.
Floss, Floss, Floss
While we always tell our patients about the importance of flossing, it is especially important on the day of the game. Athletes are likely to consume more sugar; from energy bars and chews to gum, you are not doing your teeth any favors. All that sugar may give you that extra bounce in your step when out on the field, but we want you to remember to floss when you get home, or else contend with an increased risk of cavities down the road.
If you have any questions about keeping your teeth and mouth healthy while participating in summer sports, please give us a call at our West Bend, WI office! Have fun!

Invisalign, which we happily provide at Pioneer Dental, is a great alternative to traditional orthodontic treatment if you've been apprehensive about the thought of metal braces. During your initial visit, the first thing we do is take an impression of your teeth as they are now and digitize it. Using special software, we look at the current positioning of your teeth and compare it to the way your teeth should look.
Invisalign treatment, which consists of a series of aligners that you switch out approximately every couple of weeks, can help patients with crowded teeth, crossbites, overbites, underbites and more. Invisalign gradually shifts your teeth into place, creating the dazzling smile you’ve always wanted. During treatment with Dr. Carl Meyers, patients wear the aligners all day and night, except for during meals and when they’re brushing and flossing; cleaning your teeth and eating are a snap since you can easily remove your aligners! And because they’re clear, no one will know that your teeth are steadily straightening!
To find out if you are the right candidate for Invisalign treatment, we invite you to give us a call at our convenient West Bend, WI office and schedule a consultation.
